Introduction

This Web site is designed with a variety of different users in mind. It also aims to improve the ease in which you can get around it, otherwise known as navigating, to browse the multitude of information-packed pages on European-Atlantic issues. The E-AG also aims to provide greater interactivity with this new Web site.

All articles, pictures, and other media that may be of interest (including links to other sites) are welcome for submission on the E-AG site. All submitted material is subject to review by the E-AG before its publication, however. Let us know if you wish to retain the copyrights to your own work. All submitted work must conform to the existing laws of the United Kingdom.

If you are an existing E-AG Council or Committee member, and would like your E-AG page updated, please send us any documents you feel should be added to your page, and we will post them as soon as possible.

How do I Navigate Around the E-AG’s Web Site?

On the left side of the page, you will see a Main Menu. If you click on any of the headings in this menu, you will go to a separate webpage. This Menu is visible and in the same spot on all pages in this site. If you click on the 'Speech and Debate Texts,' for example, you will be taken to a page that only lets you view the texts of the speeches given to the E-AG. Many of the speeches here are put divided on multiple pages. To view further pages, click the blue ‘next’ on the bottom right part of the page. If you would like to view a previous page, click ‘prev’ on the bottom right, or use your browsers back arrow.

The site generally works along these lines. If you have any questions or comments about the new site, we would love to hear from you. To do this, click on the ‘contact’ link in the Main Menu, and fill out the form. We will respond as soon as possible.

Where are page on this site does not have a hyperlink, you can scroll down using the following keys on your keyboard: ‘Page Up’ and ‘Page Down,’ your cursor or arrowed keys, or your mouse wheel. If your browser does not have a blue line in the title bar it may be inactive. So click on a non-hyperlinked part of the page that you are viewing. You can then use the keyboard or the mouse to get around the pages on the site.

Can I Search The Internet From this Site?

No, you cannot. The Search module on the new E-AG site only searches for documents found within eag.org.uk. If you wish to search the internet, www.google.com and www.yahoo.com are some popular web portals.

How to Listen to Audio-Visual Content

In the near future, the E-AG plans to use audio and perhaps some streaming-video content on this site. Linked audio and video hyperlinks are just like any other. The difference is that you will need to download Real Player from Real.com to hear or view the audio or video clip. Some other media players are compatible; they must be able to play .ram and .rm files. To download a free version of Real Player go to http://www.real.com .

What the Text is Too Small?

Most Web browsers all you you to adjust the size of the text that you see on-screen. With Internet Explorer click on View, select Text Size and then you can enlarge or decrease the font size to suit your needs.
